Quebec team
In collaboration with clubs, coaches and Sail Canada, Quebec's Sailing Federation (FVQ) is working to develop an annual program aimed at providing a support structure allowing the full development of Quebec athletes and help clubs put in place the programs necessary for their development.

Coralie Vittecoq

Coralie started sailing at the age of 7 at the Hudson Yacht Club. She quickly progressed in the Optimist class and participated in numerous international regattas, including the 2012 World Championships. At 14, she then opted for laser radial to continue her development within the Quebec sailing team . Her performance at the Canadian Youth Championships in 2015 qualified her for the ISAF World Youth Championships in Malaysia. Coralie is now part of the Canadian development team in ILCA 6.

Thomas and William, a dynamic sailing duo, forged their partnership since childhood, formalized at age 13 in the 29er class where they shone by winning two U18 national champion titles. Quickly, they ventured into the senior world of the 49er class, taking their ambitions to the Olympic heights. Key members of the Quebec sailing team for five years, their journey is marked by notable successes. Today, they are traveling the international circuit in preparation for the 2024 and 2028 Olympics.

Jacob Townsend
ILCA 7
Jacob started sailing at a young age, accompanying his father on his boat. From the age of 10, he took up competitive sailing. He marked his first participation in an international regatta at the age of 14, traveling to the Bahamas to represent Canada at the North American Championships. In 2020, in the middle of the covid period, he took the turn to laser (ILCA), a discipline in which he quickly distinguished himself. Since then, he has taken part in two world championships and in 2023, he won first place in the U21 category at the Canadian championships. Jacob harbors ambitions to join the Canadian sailing team and represent his country at the Olympic Games.
Nicola Gilmour
Ilca 6
Nicola started sailing at the Gatineau River Sailing Club summer camp at the age of 9. His first regatta was Fruitbowl at the age of 13 in a C420. At the age of 16, Nicola made the transition to the ILCA 6. This year she is looking forward to spending more time sailing and competing in bigger regattas, including international events.
Loa Dinel
ILCA 6
Loa discovered sailing at the age of 6 while sailing in an Optimist at the Club Nautique du Lac Brome. She followed in the footsteps of her older brothers by competing in Optimist for many years, which resulted in her being selected for several international competitions. Since the summer of 2021, she has been sailing in ILCA 6, the women's Olympic class, and aspires to participate in the 2028 Games. Loa enjoys sailing for the adrenaline it gives her on windy days and the friendships she makes. done across provinces and countries. She is looking forward to new experiences through this exciting sport.
