Scholarship for instructor/trainer
Do you want to register for training offered by Quebec sailing but are in a fragile financial situation? The FVQ offers 2 scholarships worth $550 each for training and professional development, one of which will be offered specifically to a woman.
By offering this scholarship, the Quebec Sailing Federation (FVQ) wants to support individuals who have an interest in training or improving as a sailing instructor or coach but whose financial means do not allow them to follow the training.
Deadline for submitting applications :
March 15 2024
- Be a resident of Quebec;
- Have applied to work during the current summer in a sailing school;
- Have a CanSail 2 certification or higher OR have your basic skipper’s certificate
Contents of the file:
- Motivational letter : why become a sailing instructor?
- Sailor CV resuming your past and present water activities;
- Letter of employment from a sailing school or acknowledgment of receipt of the application as instructor for the summer of the current year;
- Any document demonstrating a fragile financial situation ;
- References : the name and contacts of a person (instructor, volunteer or member of the sailing school, sports teacher, etc.) who has agreed to support you for your application.
The award criteria are:
- financial needs of the candidate
- sailing experience
- involvement in sailing-related activities.
These scholarships will be deducted from the training costs of the winning candidates. If the candidate has already paid for their training, the amount of the scholarship will be paid directly to them. The value of the scholarship cannot under any circumstances exceed the training costs of the candidates.
The documents must be uploaded to the application form to be completed online. Please bring them together in a single PDF document (size <5MB). Incomplete files will not be studied.
